Mobile numbers to begin with 8 now

The scorching pace of growth of India’s mobile phone use is clear from the fact that the department of telecommunications has exhausted cell
phone numbers beginning with 9. Soon, mobile phone companies are expected to issue cell phone numbers beginning with 8.

With the new numbering series being available, mobile companies are likely to auction some of the special numbers, particularly in newer rural markets although senior officials of mobile telephone companies ET spoke to denied such auctioning. However, several companies invite customers to bid for such numbers, either through their websites or through customer service outlets.

In the past, companies like BSNL, Idea, Tata Teleservices , Vodafone, Airtel etc have auctioned special numbers thus earning large sums of money, particularly from politicians and businessmen. In August 08 alone, state-owned BSNL earned Rs 1.15 crore from the auction of 2000 numbers. Hutch (now Vodafone) sold the most expensive number so far at Rs 15 lakh in 2007 to a Ludhianabased businessman. Tata Teleservices routinely auctions cellular numbers on its website, with prices ranging from Rs 10,000 to over Rs 1 lakh

Star Network marketer Mr Sunny Arora dies in a car accident

Top network marketer of Ebiz.com PVT LTD, Mr Sunny Arora and his mother, Smt Lalita Arora, died in a car crash on the 14th of April at Karnal.
His father,Mr Purushottam Arora and brother,Mr Mani Arora were also in the car when the accident took place.They were also badly injured.
The cremation took place on 16th April in Punjab.
Sunny Arora is the youngest self made croreoati recognised by govt of india. He formed a network of around 6 lakh associates with his company.The whole nation mourns his death but he is still alive in millions of hearts.
We pray to God to rest his soul in peace.

Monopolistic Competition

Monopolistic Competition is a market structure in which there are several or many sellers; each produce similar, but slightly differentiated products. Differentiation can be on the basis of colour, design, size, taste, fragrances, etc. Each producer can set its price and quantity without affecting the marketplace as a whole.

The characteristics of Monopolistic Competition are stated below: -

1. It has both the elements of Monopoly and Perfect Competition.

2. Large number of buyers and sellers in the market.

3. Non-Price difference (product differentiation) among the competitive products.

4. Few entry as well as exit barriers.

5. All the sellers have relatively small market share.

6. All the firms are profit maximizes.

7. Each firm has a limited ability to affect its output price.

8. The buyers and sellers have sufficient knowledge of the given market.

9. Demand is more elastic than with Oligopolistic /Monopolistic market.

10. The firms in Monopolistic Competition do not produce optimum / maximum quantity of output and hence they are unable to achieve economies of scale in business.

11. Such market structure increases the cost of transportation and other resources.

12. The demand curve is downward sloping.
